For many years I have loved to capture the nature around me on photos. While I only used my cellphone camera at first, in 2018 I also learned how to handle a real SLR camera. Since then I’m almost obsessed with it and I can not stop taking pictures. In 2019 I finally bought a mirrorless camera from Sony (Have a look at my first photo trip with the Sony α 6000). The functions that such a camera offers are just perfect for my purposes! Have a look at my portfolio with pictures from all over the world:
Weimar - Park an der Ilm
The "Roman House" is part of the "Park on the Ilm", in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Weimar. The writers Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller as well as the famous composer Franz Liszt lived in Weimar. On 2nd of November 2018 we took a wonderful autumn walk there.
Black Forest - Münstertal
Visiting my aunt in Münstertal, in the Black Forest, I took the opportunity to photograph the beautiful monastery of St. Trudpert at sunset.
Black Forest - Breitnauer Weide
During a hike in the Black Forest we found this old plough, which was certainly used there on the "Breitnauer Weide" to loosen up the soil, many decades ago.
Bamberg - Old Town Hall
The Old Town Hall is one of the most important sights of the city of Bamberg (Bavaria, Germany) and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built between the 14th and 15th centuries in the middle of the river Regnitz. Its two side walls are full of elaborate paintings.
Hohenzollern Castle
First built in the 11th century, Hohenzollern Castle was completely destroyed and rebuilt during a siege in 1423. From 1798 the castle was abandoned and became a ruin. It was not until 1867, after 20 years of reconstruction, that today's castle was completed.
Sunset at Hohenzollern Castle
On Sunday we arrived at Hohenzollern Castle at the last minute before the closing times. As a reward the sky cleared up and we enjoyed a wonderful sunset.
Burg Hohenzollern
Hohenzollern Castle is simply far too huge to be shown on just one photo. A very impressive place!
Fernsehturm - Alexanderplatz - Berlin
During a wonderful weekend visiting friends in Berlin, I took the opportunity to make some photos of the city. The Television Tower is with a height of 368 meters the highest building in Germany.
Heidelberg by Night
Yesterday I tried night photography for the first time. Heidelberg with the castle and the different bridges over the river Neckar offers a wonderful motive. But taking pictures in the dark is really not easy! Only two of 45 pictures are useful. I still have to practice that!
Golden light
A wonderful winter day with golden sunlight in the Margarethen gorge near Neckargerach. I love the colours on this photo!
Cochem at night
The castle of Cochem was built around the year 1100 AD. It towers above the small town of Cochem, on the banks of the Moselle river.
Burg Eltz
Burg Eltz impressed me very much. Not only because it is simply beautiful and lies in a dreamlike hidden valley. Since it was built in the 12th century, it has also been owned by the "Von Eltz" family - already in the 33rd generation.
Adlerbogen
Apart from its actual significance as a war monument, the Adlerbogen (Eagle's Arch) on Donnersberg Mountain offers a wonderful photographic setting for an epic sunrise. I am really amazed by this spot!
